I recently discovered that to take part in the Disney College Program my college is making me do quite a lot. Since this internship will not count toward my PR internships, I have to take my liberal arts credits and use them for the program (not that I'm complaining--woo credits!). Also I have to get a signature from someone from the communication school (so difficult to track people down, it's frustrating) as well as ask a faculty member to look over me while I'm at the program writing a 50 page research paper. Call it an independent study if you will. Also difficult to find someone willing to help me out. Oh did I mention the research paper is 50 pages?
Okay honestly it won't be that bad because 25 of those pages is about my experience during the program--basically this blog in a better organized and fancy fashion. As for the other 25, that is a research paper on whichever topic I decide to do my independent study on. I'm thinking English because then I could write an awesome paper on the differences between Disney fairy tales and Grimm fairy tales.
So in the next week I have to:
-Apply for PR internships in Rochester (this over the weekend)
-Declare my English minor
-Talk with someone in the school of communications and get a signature
-Talk to my general advisor
-Write a proposal on why I want to be in the program
-Print out a copy of my acceptance letter
-Talk to my favorite English Professor and see if he's willing to do an "independent study."
-Study for my marketing test
-Get my exercise and eating healthy on--so ready for that.
Then finally, home for spring break where I can try and relax for a little bit. But I hope everything works out and I can be successful!
Does anyone else have to do this for their college? I would really like to know! Message me something here or on my tumblr !!
Have a nice weekend everyone!
